Is Ujyalo really free? What is the catch?
+
No catch. Ujyalo is completely free right now — no credit card, no trial period, no hidden fees. Chapter Practice for Maths and Science is open to everyone with no signup needed.

We are in beta and focused on building the best product for Nepali students first. We will introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core experience will always be free.
✓ Free today. Free tomorrow. No surprises.
What is available right now?
+
Right now you can practice SEE Chapter Practice for Maths and Science — all chapters from the official CDC Grade 10 curriculum, with model answers explained in simple language.

Coming soon: SEE Past Papers, English, Social Studies and Nepali, MCQ mode, timed mock exams.
Do I need to create an account?
+
No — you can start Chapter Practice immediately without signing up. Just open ujyalo.app and pick a chapter.

Creating a free account saves your progress so you can see which chapters you have completed and how you are improving over time. It takes less than a minute.
Will Ujyalo help me pass SEE?
+
Honest answer — Ujyalo gives you the tools. You have to do the work.

What we can say: students who regularly practice SEE-style questions and understand model answers perform better than students who only read textbooks. Answering questions is how real learning happens — not just reading.
Can I use Ujyalo on my phone?
+
Yes — Ujyalo is built for phones first. It works on any phone, tablet or computer. No app to download — just open ujyalo.app in your browser. It also works on slow internet connections.
Are the questions from the real SEE syllabus?
+
Yes. All chapter practice questions are based on the official CDC Nepal Grade 10 curriculum — the same textbooks your school uses. Past papers (coming soon) are the actual SEE exam papers from previous years.

For parents
What parents want to know before trusting us with their child's education
How will I know if my child is actually studying?
+
We are building weekly parent reports — a simple email every Sunday showing exactly what your child practised, which chapters they completed, and where they need more work.
⚙ Weekly parent reports — building now
Is my child's data safe?
+
Yes. We take privacy seriously. We never sell your child's data to anyone, never show advertisements, and data is stored securely and used only to improve your child's learning experience. Read our full privacy policy for complete details.
How is Ujyalo different from hiring a tutor?
+
A tutor is valuable — a good teacher makes a real difference. But most families in Nepal cannot afford daily tuition.

Ujyalo is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, completely free. Your child can practice at 10pm before bed. No appointments, no travel, no cost. We are not replacing teachers — we are giving every student the tools to practice more.
Does my child need a smartphone?
+
Any phone with a browser and basic internet works — it does not need to be a new or expensive phone. Ujyalo is designed to be lightweight and fast even on older phones and slow connections.

About the product
What Ujyalo is, how it works, and where it is going
Who built Ujyalo?
+
Ujyalo is built by three Nepali people based in Melbourne who care deeply about education back home. We are not a big company with investors. We saw a real problem — students preparing for the most important exam of their lives without proper resources — and decided to do something about it.
What subjects does Ujyalo cover?
+
Live now: Compulsory Mathematics (17 chapters) and Compulsory Science (24 chapters) — all CDC Grade 10.

Coming soon: English, Social Studies and Population Education, Nepali.
When will past papers be available?
+
We are entering questions from real SEE past papers right now. This takes time to do properly — every question and answer is verified before it goes live. Sign up for a free account and we will notify you the moment past papers are available.

Pricing and future
Honest answers about money and sustainability
How long will Ujyalo stay free?
+
The core experience — chapter practice, past papers, model answers — will always be free. We believe every Nepali student deserves access to quality exam preparation regardless of their family's income.
How does Ujyalo make money?
+
Right now — we do not. We are in beta and focused entirely on building something genuinely useful for students.

In the future we plan to offer optional paid features and school plans. We will never show advertisements. We will never sell your data.
🇳🇵 Ujyalo is ad-free. Always.
Do you offer help for students who cannot afford anything?
+
Everything on Ujyalo right now is free — no application needed, no questions asked. A student in a remote village with basic internet access gets exactly the same experience as anyone else. That is not a marketing line. It is the point of Ujyalo.
